Nature and history in equal parts
Estancia La Paz is a hotel. A countryside neighborhood. A golf course. Two polo fields. A lake. Forest and woodland. A park designed by the French landscape architect Charles Thays and the legacy of the two-time President of Argentina, Julio Roca.

The Home of a Nation
In its early days, these lands were known as 'Corral de Piedra,' inhabited by the indigenous people of the Sanavirón tribe. They were later donated to the novitiate of the College of the Society of Jesus to be incorporated into the Santa Catalina Estate. It was renamed Estancia La Paz in honor of the peace pact between Buenos Aires and the Argentine Confederation. Throughout history, it has been the site of significant moments and reached its zenith when it became the summer residence of Julio A. Roca, the former President of the nation.
The former president modernized the estate with a neoclassical Italian style and commissioned the French landscape architect Charles Thays to design the 100-hectare park with its artificial lake. During his terms in office, he governed the country from La Paz, which was visited during that period by iconic figures such as Avellaneda, Mitre, Sarmiento, Pellegrini, and Figueroa Alcorta.

The Historic Center houses Estancia La Paz Hotel's most elegant gastronomic proposal. The menu combines techniques from the most modern cuisine with typically Argentine flavors. It is updated seasonally, as the prevailing concept is to work with fresh products. We also have a 'Rincón Criollo' (Creole Corner) by the lake, where our diners can savor various cuts of Argentine beef cooked over an open flame.
